SHINee JAPANESE RELEASES



1st Single: Replay (Kimi wa Boku no Everything)
Release Date: 2011.06.22

The title track is the Japanese remake of their debut Korean single "Noona Neomu Yeppeo (Replay)", included on their Korean debut mini-album of the same name. The B-Side is the Japanese version of their Korean single "Hello", part of their second repackage album.

The single was released in two CD+DVD versions. The limited version was packed in a digipack includes two bonus tracks, a 68 pages photobook and a random (1 of 6) trading card. The regular version contains with a different 44 pages photobook and a postcard (for first press only).

It sold 50,2700 copies on its release date, debuting at the #2 spot of the Oricon Daily Singles Chart. In the first week of sales, it sold over 91,419 copies giving them second place on the Oricon Weekly Chart. It is also the most sales a Korean idol group has had for their debut in their first week of sales.

It was certified gold by the RIAJ for having 100,000 physical copies shipped in June 2011, a first for a debut single for a Korean male group and also won the #1 Single of the Year in Japan’s "K-Pop Lovers!" Awards 2011 by Tower Records Online.

2nd Single: Juliette

"JULIETTE" is SHINee's second Japanese single. It was released in three CD+DVD versions. The Limited Edition A was housed in a sleeve case including two bonus tracks, an MP3 "PLAYBUTTON" player (with "JULIETTE" in it), a 68 pages photobook and a random (1 of 5) trading card. The Limited Edition B was housed in a sleeve case too including two bonus tracks, a 68 pages photobook and a random trading card, but didn't include the MP3 player. The Regular Edition included a different 44 pages photobook and a postcard (for first press only). DVDs for each editions contain different tracklists.

The title track is a Japanese version of the Korean song "Juliette" (줄리엣), an instrumentally remake of Corbin Bleu's "Deal with it" from his debut album Another Side. "Juliette" was used as the lead single to promote their second Korean mini-album romeo. The song was written by SHINee's lead vocalist Jong Hyun, making his song writing debut, and it was musically described as an "urban dance number". The music video for "Juliette", which was released on May 22, 2009 featured Girls' Generation Jessica's younger sister Krystal, who later debuted in f(x). The B-Side for the single is an original Japanese song.

1st Album: THE FIRST

"The First" is the first Japanese studio album by South Korean boy group Shinee. The album was scheduled for release on November 23, 2011, however it was delayed to December 7, 2011 in Japan under EMI Music Japan. The album features three previously released singles, "Replay", "Juliette" and "Lucifer", all of which have ranked within the top three on Oricon charts.

Five of the songs from the album have been released as A-side singles, "Replay", "Juliette" and "Lucifer", in Japan. Shinee is the first foreign artist in the 44 year history of the Oricon to release three different singles and have all three ranked within the top three. On January 13, 2012, it was announced that The First was certified Gold for selling over 100,000 copies.
The album was released in three versions, a limited edition special box containing a DVD, an 88-page photo book, a can badge type MP3 player including all the album tracks, and an original 2012 calendar. The DVD includes digest of "Japan Debut Premium Reception Tour" and jacket photo shooting. A limited edition contains a DVD, a 68-page photo book, and a desktop calendar for 2012. The DVD includes digest of "Japan Debut Premium Reception Tour in Japan" and digest of "Japan Debut Premium Reception Tour in London" and a regular edition contains a bonus song "Stranger", the main theme of the TV drama series "Strangers 6". Also comes with a 44-page photo book.

4th Single: Sherlock

"sherlock" is SHINee's fourth Japanese single. It was released in two versions, a limited CD+DVD edition coming with a 28-page photobooklet, a 3D sleeve case and a trading card (one randomly chosen between 11) and a regular CD Only edition coming with a 360x360mm poster booklet and a trading card (first press only). The CD Only edition's first press version also has a different cover and comes housed in a digipak.

The title track is a Japanese version of the Korean song "Sherlock (Clue + Note)", included in their fourth Korean mini-album of the same name. The B-Side is an original Japanese song.

5th Single: Dazzling Girl

"Dazzling Girl" is SHINee's fifth Japanese single. It is also their first Japanese single with an original A-Side. It was released in three versions, a limited CD+DVD edition A packaged as a clutch bag coming with 11 exclusive photos, and a trading card (one randomly chosen between 6); a limited CD Only edition B housed in a 3-fold digipack coming with a bonus track, 6 exclusive photos, and a trading card; a regular CD Only edition coming with a trading card (first press only) and both new songs' instrumental tracks. The A-Side "Dazzling Girl" was released as a digital single a week before the single, whereas the B-Side "Run With Me" was released as a digital single on the same day.

Both A-Side and B-Side are original Japanese songs. "Bodyguard" is a Japanese cover of their Korean song of the same title included on the digital single "Anycall Bodyguard", which was sung during their first Japan tour "THE FIRST JAPAN ARENA TOUR 2012 "SHINee WORLD 2012"".

The ballad "1000nen, Zutto Soba ni Ite..." was released on December 12, 2012. The B-side track, "Kimi ga Iru Sekai", is another ballad, with piano and percussion. The single comes with a bonus DVD, a 28-page book with photos and lyrics, and a trading card.

It was released in two versions, a limited CD+DVD edition coming with a 16-page photobooklet, a flyer, a trading card (one radomly chosen between 6 kinds) and an original sticker; and a regular CD only edition whose first press came with a flyer, a trading card and an original sticker.

Both A-Side and B-Side are original Japanese songs.

2nd Album: Boys Meet U

Boys Meet U is the second Japanese studio album (seventh overall) by South Korean boy band Shinee, released on June 26, 2013 in Japan by EMI Records Japan. This is the group's first release under Universal Music Japan as a result of EMI's dissolution and absorption into Universal Music in April 2013.

At least four of the songs from the album, "Sherlock", "Dazzling Girl", "1000-nen, Zutto Soba ni Ite..." and "Fire", have been released as A-side singles in Japan. Another track, "Breaking News", was aired on Tokyo FM during the Yamada Hisashi's Radian Limited F. The short version of the music video for the same song was released on 21 June 2013 on Universal Music Japan's official Youtube channel. The full list of tracks in the album and their preview in the form of a medley was released on June 23, 2013.
The album was released on June 26, 2013, on online music portal sites for digital download as well as in three different physical versions, regular CD version, a CD + DVD version and a limited edition which contains a CD, a DVD, and a photo book.

"Boys Meet U" and "Sunny Day Hero" are original Japanese songs, while the second track is a remake of their Korean song "Dream Girl" from the first chapter of their 3rd Korean album Dream Girl - The Misconceptions of You.

9th Single: 3 2 1

"3 2 1" is the ninth Japanese single released by SHINee. It was released in three versions, two limited CD+DVD editions coming with a 20-page photobooklet and a regular CD only edition. First press for all editions included a trading card (one radomly chosen between 5 kinds) and a special scratch card. The title track was used as the theme song for the drama Tokyo Toybox.

"3 2 1" and "Colors of the season" are original Japanese songs, while the second track is a remake of their Korean song "Everybody" from their 5th Korean mini-album of the same name. A 1:30 minutes long "drama version" of the title track was released as a digital single on October 23rd.

10th Single: Lucky Star
Release Date: 2014.06.25

This single wiill come in two versions. The limited edition will come with a bonus DVD containing the music video, a Sketch of the music video's making, a photo card (1 out of 6 random cards) and a 28-page photo booklet. The regular edition will come with a 12-page photo booklet. The music video teaser for "Lucky Star" was released through Universal Music Japan's YouTube channel on May 19, 2014 and the short version of the music video was released on May 30, 2014.
