EXO M&K KOREAN RELEASES


1st Mini Album: MAMA

Mama is the debut studio EP by Chinese-South Korean boy bands Exo-K and Exo-M, produced and released by S.M. Entertainment on April 9, 2012 in two language editions – Exo-K's Korean version and Exo-M's Mandarin version.

The EP was produced by Lee Soo-man, who is also the main producer for the group. The title for the EP is a Korean term used to address to a royal person, similar to the attributes "your highness" or "your majesty" in English. The title single "Mama" is written by Yoo Young-jin, who also co-wrote two other singles from the EP, "What Is Love" and "History."

1st Album: XOXO

XOXO (Kiss&Hug) is the first studio album by South Korean-Chinese boy band Exo, released on June 3, 2013 by S.M. Entertainment. The album is a follow-up to the group's debut EP, Mama (2012). Like all of the group's music, the album was released in two versions – a Korean "Kiss" edition and a Chinese "Hug" edition.

Two title singles spawned from XOXO: "Wolf" and "Growl", the latter being the lead single off the album's repackaged version, which was released on August 5, 2013. Both singles went to chart in the top ten of the Gaon Singles Chart, and "Growl" peaked at number 3 on the Billboard Korea K-Pop Hot 100. Other non-promotional tracks in XOXO also reached popularity in real-time charts, as they have topped almost every online real-time music charts of South Korea and China.

XOXO was a commercial success. The album reached over 300,000 collective pre-orders, and peaked at number one on the Billboard World Album Chart a week after release. As of December 2013, the Korean and Chinese versions of the album, as well as their respective repackaged versions, have collectively sold over 1,007,577 copies, making it the best-selling album of the year in the K-pop industry. With over a million copies sold, XOXO also became Korea's best-selling album in 12 years.

XOXO won Album of the Year at the 2013 Mnet Asian Music Awards, and its second lead single "Growl" won Song of the Year at the MelOn Music Awards.

2nd Mini Album: Miracles in December

Miracles in December is the second EP by South Korean-Chinese boy band Exo. It was released by S.M. Entertainment on December 9, 2013. Presented as a special winter album, Miracles in December is a follow-up to the group's first studio album XOXO, which was released in June 2013. Like all of the group's music, the EP has Korean and Chinese versions. The EP is also the group's second release as well as first EP to be promoted extensively being as a combined group.
Its lead single "Miracles in December" was first unveiled on December 4, 2013 through the release of the single's accompanying music videos. On December 5, the single was released online, and debuted at number one on nine South Korean music charts.

3rd Mini Album: Overdose

On April 15, 2014 was revealed that EXO will come back with a new album Overdose on April 21, 2014. On April 18, the comeback was delayed due to sinking of the MV Sewol. Through the boys' official home page, SM Entertainment said, "After learning of the sinking ship incident that happened on April 16, all of SM Entertainment's artists, executives, and SM family are struck with grief and sympathy. After discussing the schedule for EXO's music release, album release, and future promotions in the country, SM Entertainment decided to tentatively delay the release of mini-album 'Overdose,' which was planned for April 21."

On May 4, 2014 Exo has confirmed their comeback for the 7th. The boys had been pushing their comeback since April 15 because of the Sewol ferry incident, but the boys will finally be releasing their album officially on the 7th after the Korean holidays are over. SM Entertainment revealed, "EXO's mini album 'Overdose', which had been delayed after we heard the bad news of the Sewol ferry sinking to offer our condolences, will be released on May 7th. SM Entertainment and EXO hope to give comfort and strength during these hard times by doing our best where we are. We once again give our condolences and put our hearts together. We thank all the fans who have been waiting for EXO and their new album."

On May 7, 2014, the EP was released along with the full music videos, despite the ones released by the official SM Entertainment YouTube channel is an edit of the ones initially released by the Samsung Music smartphone application.
